What low-emission means
Floor coverings and installation materials can release volatile organic compounds into indoor air. The Blue Angel is a voluntary German environmental label for products that meet the criteria of their specific product group.
It is not a universal approval, an installation instruction or a guarantee of a particular health outcome.
Check the exact product
Do not assume that every product from a certified manufacturer is covered. Verify the exact name, product group, certificate validity and current manufacturer documentation.
Criteria for several Blue Angel product groups, including low-emission flooring, panels and doors, were revised in 2026.
Consider the complete installation system
A certified floor can still be combined with an unsuitable adhesive, primer, levelling compound or underlay. Each component must suit the substrate and the covering.

- acoustic comfort and underlay
- compatibility with underfloor heating
- manufacturer drying and ventilation instructions
Choose for the actual room
A suitable independent flooring provider can assess the covering, substrate and installation system and describe the scope in its own quotation. HandMen does not install flooring and only refers the enquiry.
Agree on delivery and storage before ordering
Record who checks the delivery, where the packs will be stored and which preparation the chosen product’s instructions require. A shared checklist connects the product documents with responsibilities and the planned installation start.
