First identify which reveals need work

For proposed non-load-bearing plasterboard linings at window and door openings in Wiesbaden and the surrounding area, HandMen provides online marketing and refers enquiries to independent contractors. Give each opening an identifier, such as F1 or T1. Sketch the side reveals, head reveal and, for windows, the sill area separately.

Describe the reason for the work: new windows, a damaged interior surface, an additional wall lining or a passage without a frame. Lining the reveal is a separate scope. A window-installation contract or a completed door does not establish who prepares, builds and subsequently coats these surfaces.

Record which frames, sills and wall surfaces remain and which will change. Add the intended appearance and known documents. If the opening itself is to be altered, treat that intervention separately from the non-load-bearing interior lining and assign the required assessment.

Clarify existing conditions and problem areas before lining

Record visible cracks, loose areas, stains, previous water damage and known alterations as observations. Photograph the whole opening and the affected areas. Appointed contractors clarify the necessary investigation and preparation. A smooth new surface is not a finding about the substrate behind it.

The German Environment Agency notes that mould damage can be concealed. Have unusual or damp areas, their cause and further measures assessed before they are covered. A new reveal lining alone does not establish that a moisture problem has been resolved. The linked publication page explains the purpose of the specialist guide.

BG BAU emphasises building age and existing-condition information before interventions in old materials. Share available documents and known hazardous-material findings. Do not drill, sand or remove unknown old layers to improve enquiry photographs. Investigation and necessary measures remain with the relevant specialists.

Coordinate finished geometry with the frame and wall surface

For the enquiry, measure the visible existing surfaces and identify the measurement reference. The responsible contractor confirms the survey and order dimensions. Record differences between the two sides and between upper and lower areas. Board thickness alone describes neither finished reveal depth nor the new wall position.

Have the complete assembly entered, including preparation, fixing approach and surface finish. With a new framed wall lining, include its finished surface and the reveal on the same sketch. Agree whether surfaces are straight, square or intentionally splayed; this geometry is not established from a photograph.

Also have operating areas for window sashes, door leaves and handles checked, together with existing hardware and possible shading components. Who confirms that operation and intended access remain available after lining? The worksheet collects project questions rather than universal clearance values.

If a curtain recess is planned, show the finished reveal, sill and handle movement on the same dimensioned sketch. The recess guide helps coordinate room for fabric and track as well as later access. A correctly finished reveal does not establish how the curtain track can be supported.

Distinguish the visible window finish from its functional junction

illbruck describes window junctions in terms of internal airtightness, insulation within the joint and external weather protection. Suitable product combinations depend on the project. A finished plasterboard reveal does not establish these functions. Record who assesses the window junction and what must be completed and checked before the interior lining.

Ask the window contractor which junction areas must be retained and which need access. Coordinate transitions between frame, reveal, interior sill and wall. Record missing information about concealed seals as unresolved; choosing a visible finishing strip does not automatically answer those questions.

If additional reveal insulation is proposed, appointed designers and contractors determine the complete assembly and building-physics requirements. Do not order solely for minimal thickness. Agree a coordination point before closure so unexpected findings or a revised junction can be reflected in the design, quote and sequence.

Consider the door frame, opening and lining together

Distinguish a lined open passage from an opening with an existing or new door frame. For a frame, finished wall thickness, space for trims and the relationship to the finished floor matter. Discuss whether reveal work precedes or follows frame installation and who supplies the confirmed ordering information.

Rigips identifies wall height, opening width and door-leaf weight as criteria for frame construction in drywall partitions. The visible lining alone therefore does not establish a suitable door fixing. When a drywall opening changes, the frame and drywall providers assess the construction together. Manufacturer values are not transferred to every existing wall.

For doors with specific protective functions, have junction work determined from the relevant documents. Identify the responsible provider before changes to frames, trims or seals. Even a visually small repair is described by its actual scope; it is not general permission to modify a functional element.

Agree joints, edges and the intended surface quality

Mark transitions to frames, sills and adjoining wall surfaces. Ask for the joint and edge concept suitable for the chosen assembly. Who selects junction profiles, finishes the edges and coordinates material compatibility? A general item such as fill everything does not describe these tasks sufficiently.

Leaflet 3 of the German Gypsum Industry Association distinguishes junction types and identifies additional protective requirements. A schematic drawing is not a complete assembly for every opening. The relevant specialists determine the actual detail, including necessary movement accommodation; its examples provide no universal profile or sealant recipe.

Describe filling quality, the later coating and lighting together. The publication index lists separate surface-quality and preparation leaflets. Record the handover to the following contractor, including outstanding remedial work. A Q-level describes neither verified airtightness, fire resistance nor craft-law authorisation for general painting work.

Assign checks and handovers before concealed areas are closed

Add the company, contact, date and outstanding decision for each topic. Agree directly which concealed areas are checked at which stage and which documents the following contractor receives. Photographs record conditions; they do not replace professional assessment of a functional junction.

Keep a clear record of changes to the quote and outstanding tasks. Retain confirmed dimensions and information about the completed junctions. This worksheet supports preparation and coordination; it is neither technical approval nor a replacement for contractual acceptance.

Clarify the actual commission and the independent partner

IHK Frankfurt generally describes acoustic and dry construction using prefabricated components as outside the essential activities of Annex A crafts. This classification is not general approval of every task around an opening. Describe lining, preparation, window installation, frame work and subsequent coating individually.

General painting, additional plastering or structural alterations are assessed according to their actual scope and required authorisations. Painters and varnishers are listed in Annex A of the German Crafts Code. A small surface or Kleinunternehmer status creates no automatic exemption. The executing contractor clarifies suitability for the actual commission.

For an enquiry in Wiesbaden and the surrounding area, identify openings, known conditions, intended finished surfaces, frames and sills, and unresolved junction questions. HandMen names the specific independent partner and obtains separate consent before transferring personal data. You agree the survey, measurements, technical assessment, design, quote, contract, work, invoice and payment directly with the appointed contractor. HandMen supplies marketing and enquiry referral, not execution, site supervision or technical approval.
