Record the opening correctly
Before ordering a door, frame or window, record the opening width and height at several points, wall thickness, finished floor level, opening direction and hinge side.
Final production dimensions must follow the relevant manufacturer system and installation requirements.
Define the required performance
A component must suit more than the opening. Clarify moisture, thermal and acoustic performance, fire or smoke requirements, security, accessibility and connection to existing insulation or sealing layers.

Prepare the installation area
Clear access routes, protect adjacent surfaces and confirm that the substrate is stable, dry and ready. Before fixing non-load-bearing drywall, locate concealed cables, water pipes and other services.
Changes to electrical, water or heating systems must be completed by the responsible specialist contractor before the wall or lining is closed up.
Keep the scope clear
